New Outline Planning Application for Land at Police HQ (Ref. W/22/1877) – inc. RESPONSE FROM WDC

On Wednesday, 14 December, the Parish Council received a new application for outline planning permission for 83 homes on land at Warwickshire Police HQ. Due to the timing of the application the public consultation period is until 4 January 2023. The Parish Council has therefore written to the Case Officer requesting an extension to this period, as follows:

Mr Charles

Leek Wootton and Guys Cliffe Parish Council wishes to formally request that the consultation period for comment on the above application be extended until the end of January 2023.

We received notification of this planning application on Wednesday, 14 December, with the period for public response ending on 4 January 2023. This end date of 4 January may well be the legal limit after the lodging of the application on 28 November but in view of the Christmas holiday period, we were frankly astonished by this timeline and consider it to be unfair to our community and other interested parties.

This is potentially the single most important development in our community for decades and it deserves proper time and scrutiny.

Prompt action on this would be seen to be appropriate and fair.

Yours sincerely

The following response was received from the Development Manager, Warwick District Council:

Dear Richard,

Thank you for your email.

The consultation request (and associated time period) that you received will have been generated automatically and yes, of course the reason for your request is very much understood and the extended period agreed.

Best wishes

Gary Fisher
